Oak House School Lunch Program 2026 Update
Oak House School Lunch Program Update
As we begin the new semester, all Oak House lunch orders will be placed through one online ordering link, with a midnight cutoff the night before service for all preorders.
This structure is especially important as Chef Hill and their partner Benjamin - co-chairs of GC Café and serving as Chef and Lead Cook - prepare to welcome a baby in late January/early February. During this time, GC Café will operate without an onsite administrator, making advance planning essential to ensure meals are prepared accurately and lunch service runs smoothly. While Chef Hill will remain involved in supporting the program during this transition, the systems in place allow the GC Café team to continue providing consistent, reliable service to students each day.
Monthly menus will be posted by the Sunday before each month begins to support family planning. The preorder cutoff helps our kitchen team finalize ingredient counts, prepare meals safely, and ensure that every student who preorders receives exactly what they expect - without last-minute substitutions or shortages.
If the preorder window is missed, students may still purchase available items day-of using cash, card, or a GC Café gift card balance. Please note that chicken tenders and cold turkey sandwiches are preorder-only, and there are no last-minute preorder accommodations once the deadline has passed. For families who need flexibility, Speakcheesy gift cards function as student lunch accounts and may be used for both preorders and day-of purchases.
GC Café, in partnership with the GC Foundation, is proud to offer scratch-made meals that balance comfort, nourishment, and familiarity. Menu offerings include vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options, along with simplified ARFID-friendly choices such as chicken tenders, sunbutter & jelly, and turkey & cheese sandwiches to ensure every student has access to meals that feel safe and satisfying.
Thank you for your patience, pre-planning, and continued partnership in supporting a smooth and nourishing lunch experience for whom we serve.
